Hi,

I am Indian citizen, working in Kualalumpur on Employment pass. My wife is also residing in KL on dependent pass, recently we had a baby for which i got malaysian birth certificate & Indian passport.

I need to send my baby to India so do i need to get visa for her or based upon birthcertificate & passport some special pass will be issued to her on airport for leaving malaysia.

Yes, either go for Special Pass or Dependent Pass but watch the timing please these are very slow nowadays so please submit ASAP.

Hello there...this needs to be done with supporting cover letter from your employer, bring your baby's flight ticket, original Malaysian birth certificate, original passport of your baby (with copy), your passport copy and a form when u r at the HQ in Putrajaya. Be ready for the wait...

Hello ,
I have the same scenario. I am an indian working in malaysia. My baby is born on august 3rd 2016. We are planning to go to india on january 6th . I went through this discussion and asked this to my HR. She checked with the MDEC and asked me to check with my embassy (indian embassy). when i went there , they asked me to check in immigration office putrajaya. I called them. They said my baby does not require a visa to exit. and while entering I will have to get letter from my office and process the first stage visa. I recorded the call . However I am still confused. can some one comment on this.

Also, according to this https://www.forum-expat-management.com/users/13457-newland-chase/posts/11846-malaysia-new-requirements-for-mdec-employment-passes,

"For a child born in Malaysia of foreign national parents, a Dependant Pass application will have to be made within six months of the date of birth. Failing this, a Special Pass will have to be obtained from the Enforcement Unit of the Immigration Department in Putrajaya before a Dependant Pass can be obtained."

My baby will be 6 months old on feb 3rd. so, can i go back to india. and do the first stage visa (single entry) there with the letter provided by my company and come back and complete the 2nd stage VISa. I ll be back on 23rd of january and i will have 7 working days in between to process the second stage. can some experts show some lights.

Hi there

Based on your queries above, we note that your child was born in Malaysia. First and foremost, if you are planning to go back to India with your child (if a Dependent Pass is not available as yet) - a Special Pass is required to be obtained before travelling otherwise you and your family will be stopped at the airport.

If your child is not travelling in January and you would like to apply for a Dependent Pass (while in Malaysia) - you will required to submit the Stage 1 application thereafter to obtain a memo from the Immigration Unit in MDeC and proceed to the Enforcement Unit for Special Pass application. This is assuming that your Employment Pass is issued in MDeC.

This is Ibrahim Khalil from Malaysia. Currently I am doing PhD in the University of Malaya, Malaysia. My wife is staying here as my dependent. My baby was born on 13th March'17 here in Malaysia. Now we are planning to go back to Bangladesh as early as possible. I have a birth registration certificate for my daughter from JPN but no passport yet.

My query " is it possible to exit Malaysia without any passport by taking any pass from the Malaysian Immigration office?"

Thanks in advance

All foreign individuals need a Pass to remain in Malaysia hence your baby needs one too, without which baby will be barred from departure.

Hello there. I'm a Nigerian and I just finished my PhD study. I have a four year old child with Nigerian passport and Malaysian birth certificate. Next month I want to be on my way back home and I want know the process involved to get my Malaysian-born child traveling with me. Do I need to obtain special pass for him to be allowed exit? And if I need special pass for him, what are the documents I need to present and how many days it will take to get it done? Note that I am going back to my country and I need specific answers that address my questions. Thanks for your anticipated assistance on this issue.
