The Malaysia My Second Home program (commonly abbreviated "MM2H" and formerly known as the silver hair program) is promoted by the Government of Malaysia to allow foreigners to live in the country on a long-stay visa of up to 10 years. The visa is renewable.
To qualify for the program, applicants must meet certain financial and medical criteria. Successful applicants are then entitled to enter and leave the country on a largely unrestricted basis, and benefit from other MM2H specific incentives aimed at making their stay in Malaysia more convenient. They can also bring with them their spouses, parents and children.
Foreign spouses of Malaysians can also eligible to apply, though they don't enjoy some of the MM2H benefits. Their other option is to opt for a Long Term Social Visit Pass which give them slightly better chances of obtaining a Malaysian Permanent Residency.
MM2H aspirant have two options to submit their application. They can use an approved MM2H agent, or do it themselves.
Agents are appointed by the ministry of tourism and are to help applicants with their application. They are also supposed to promote the program abroad, though very few do. On top of helping applicants with their paperwork, agents are required to "sponsor" each application they process, which translates into the need for a Personal Bond being waved.
Still, more and more applicants go through the paperwork on their own as
